The Optimistic Wrench is an obvious departure from the highly regarded 2022 album Always Something. On previous releases, the band had limited time and resources to accommodate the creative process but on The Optimistic Wrench, UV-TV practiced patience and utilized the studio as an instrument. “We wrote most of the record while playing with an Omni chord and recording sonic experiments using a Farfisa organ and broken synthesizers as our palette” says Vastola.
