Manchester newcomers Mewn share mesmeric EP lead single ‘Two Days’, set for release April 28th via Simonie Records.

Specialising in beautifully textured art-rock, un-phased by the prospects of sincerity and honesty, the emerging quintet have already made quite the impression across the press landscape, with significant praise from key indie champions (NME, DIY, So Young), as well as several plays on the BBC 6 Music airwaves (Lauren Laverne, Stuart Maconie) following the release of 2021 debut EP ‘Landscapes Unchanged’.

With members sharing musical touchstones such as Timber Timbre, Arcade Fire, Big Thief, Nick Cave and Radiohead, the band are inspired by artists who command a grand sound that is complex and multifaceted, but still sonically beautiful and meshed together - a quality which has seen the group land their biggest ever gig, a support slot with indie rock giants The National at Manchester’s 12,000 capacity Mayfield Depot this August.

Speaking ahead of their single release, frontman Daniel Bluer explained: “‘In Two Days’ I think I am expressing feelings of longing and grasping. Directed more internally than anywhere else, striving to do and be better. These feelings are also applied to other peoples’ actions and the world around me but I have a lot less control over them and can only really judge myself. I don’t want to give the impression of it being morbid though as to me the song also finds a joyful acceptance and very cathartic release of emotions".

With the five-piece’s new EP set for release this summer, Mewn are primed for a busy period of festivals both home and abroad, with further EP reveals imminent.

Mewn’s ‘Two Days’ is out April 28th via Simonie Records and will be available on all digital platforms.
