London-based, South African alt-pop aficionados HONEYMOAN continue to fire on all cylinders with the release of new single ‘Sit Right’. The track follows on from May single ‘Sorry Like You Mean It,’ and the announcement of their debut album of the same name, released on 29 September. The band have also announced a UK & EU tour throughout October. Their London headline show at The Lexington on 18 October is already on-sale (and moving fast) whilst tickets for all other dates are available from 10am on Friday, 9 June.

On ‘Sit Right’, power and drive relent to a more introspective atmosphere, with nimble rhythms and echoing vocals from front woman Alison Rachel. ‘Sit Right’ shows HONEYMOAN can bring both power and emotion. As tasters of what is to come on their debut album, the band are showcasing their knack for writing alt-pop anthems no matter the mood.

Speaking on the track, Alison says:

“Sit Right pays homage to the wonder of the present moment, it’s a reminder to wake up from the cycles of thought and take a look around you to appreciate how amazing it is to be alive right now.”

Following on from their trio of outstanding EPs Palace, Weirdo and Body, debut album Sorry Like You Mean it is a defining moment for HONEYMOAN. A record of enormous scope, from dynamic, psychedelic pop to gritty pop-punk, and even nods to afropop, Sorry Like You Mean It promises to be incredibly special, evidenced by new single ‘Sit Right’ and powerful previous release title track ‘Sorry Like You Mean It’.

Even at HONEYMOAN’s very first jam in their native Cape Town, it was clear they had a rare creative spark. By the end of day one they had already produced two ready - made bangers – the bracing guitar - driven rush of ‘</3’, and the slick down-tempo earworm ‘W e’ – that were only a taste of what was to come.
