Lighthouse, the highly anticipated debut album by Francis of Delirium is OUT NOW via Dalliance Recordings.
For Franics of Delirium, AKA 22-year old, Luxembourg based Jana Bahrich, Lighthouse is the sound of openness, optimism and embracing vulnerabilities, weaving in elements of pop alongside rock to create songs which resonate universally and celebrate the beautiful things of the world. Lead singles ‘Real Love’ and ‘First Touch’ were produced by Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Wolf Alice) and the rest of the album self-produced with frequent collaborator Chris Hewett. Previous single ‘Blue Tuesday’ was named as KEXPs Track of the Day and added to Spotify playlists New Noise, All New Indie and Front Page Indie, Whilst single ‘Give It Back To Me’ was praised by DORK with “it stands out not just as a song but as a statement of solidarity and support within a community”.
Lighthouse is a ready made indie rock classic, packed with uplifting and emotional Gen-Z anthems from start to finish. Offering some words on the inspiration behind the album, Jana says:
“For this album, hope is the prevailing feeling I'm left with after making it and listening to it. The idea is that there is this light guiding you out into a space where you can be more open and accepting of love and joy. Even as you gain or lose love, it never really goes away; it just transforms itself, moving into other relationships with you.”
Francis of Delirium is the loudest voice in a very quiet country. With fans at the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, KEXP, Clash, Line of Best Fit and many more, Jana has taken up the mantle as the sound of young Luxembourg. She’s putting the tiny on the musical map and giving a huge shot in the arm to a fledgling scene even younger than she is - evident by her SOLD OUT gig to launch the album tonight at Rotondes. On top of the writing, recording and producing the music, Jana is prolific across other artistic outlets, creating all the artwork for the record. Using lino-cuts and ink printing, Jana has created a beautiful and striking visual identity for Lighthouse. If that’s not enough, she also co-directed the video for single ‘Real Love’ watch here.
Jana’s incredible journey up until this point has seen her release 3 critically acclaimed EPs, All Change, Wading and The Funhouse. The EPs fizz with raw alt-rock excitement, angst and grunge darkness.
The announcement of Lighthouse comes following a busy year of touring with the likes of Soccer Mommy, Briston Maroney, Horsegirl, The Districts and hitting Eurosonic, Iceland Airwaves and Tree Fort Fest, as well as opening for The 1975 and Kings of Leon. In April, May and June, Francis of Delirium will be heading out on their biggest headline tour to date, playing shows across Europe, the UK and North America, including a London headline at Oslo, Hackney on 14 May, as well as a newly announced Luxembourg album release show at Rotondes on 22 March, now sold out.
