Hong Kong born, London based artist bb sway and much hyped French bassist Basile Petite release their evocative new bedroom-pop single ‘Your Type’ via sevenfoursevensix on 5 July. Lavish and multi-layered, ‘Your Type’ is a blissful summer bop that swells with smooth harmonies, full-bodied basslines and a warm saxophone solo. A tender, melancholy love song, bb sway sings “I want you to notice me, I could be your type” as they effortlessly blend elements of neo-psychedelia, bedroom pop and R&B with heartfelt lyrics, clean production and lush sonic arrangements.

The duo offer on the track: "‘Your Type’, is a dreamy number… We wrote it as an anthem for the swooners, and as an ode to OutKast’s iconic song ‘Prototype’."

bb sway is following on from their ‘Pearl’ EP - released in 2021 to widespread acclaim - and this year is shaping up to be even bigger, with more music in the works. bb sway has become known as one of the most exciting new prospects to emerge in the last couple of years. With a playful yet meticulous approach to arrangement and lyrics that feel like hushed secrets from a friend, they are making good on their early promise.

Hailing from the north west of France, Basile Petite had an eclectic musical upbringing. First introduced to music by his family of classical musicians, he oscillated between punk and reggae bands before joining the Caen Jazz Conservatoire when he was 15. After finishing his baccalaureate, he began studying classical music at a Conservatoire in Tours before moving to London on a whim to busk with friends, where he is now based. He takes inspiration from both musicians in his hometown as well as new peers in London.

Driven by a desire to spread their message, create something relatable and help with emotional healing, both artists create music with a wide-eyed inquisitiveness and a genuine heart.
