Tiberius b returns with single “New Life” which arrives alongside a video directed by Hamish Wirgman who captures the intimate, complex, beautiful and ugly elements of human nature. “New Life” is released via Mark Ronson’s label Zelig Music and is a seductively breathless, carnally beautiful premonition about the end of a formative relationship.
iberius on the single, “I made New Life a year ago. Songs often have a prescience, everything I said has played itself out entirely. Last night i wrote down ‘That new life I wanted is coming now. I think this is it.’ The video is like a liminal playground to exercise all that came before, where it feels unclear whether I’m ascending or descending. I was very ill when we shot it and had to make that a part of the visual storytelling."
Tiberius b’s greatest strength is an exact sensory evocation of sounds, smells, tastes, textures, and the colours of their world and “New Life” is a perfect example of this.
“New Life” is a thrilling progression from their acclaimed EP DIN which celebrates and revels in the intricate nature of loss, queer intimacy and trans beauty. The visuals for DIN were created by Aidan Zamiri (Charlie XCX, Caroline Polacheck, FKA Twigs and Pinkpantheress) and stylist and art director Hamish Wirgman and the single “HHB” from the EP was featured on the BBC 6 Music A List.
Following their rousing and seductive live show at this year's End Of The Road festival, Tiberius has announced a number of new live dates for 2024.
