Crescent City rockers The Convenience return with another peek under the hood of their new album Like Cartoon Vampires, due April 18. Their new single “Dub Vultures” arrives with a hook that will lodge itself under your skin, as well as a stop motion music video made by the band’s Nick Corson that brings to life the album’s collaged, scrappy front cover. On the making of the track, Corson says it was “written and demoed in 15 mins in an agitated state. Realized later I took the title from a New Order remix, but theirs was just a pun on their song "Sub-culture" (shrug). I hesitate to speculate what ours is about but I think it's got somethin' to do with drones. Recording was frustrating—toyed with each individual instrument forever but in the end kept it almost exactly the same as the first day we tracked it.”
Across thirteen vivid, angular tracks, The Convenience explores an invigorating sound that's just a tad psychedelic on the new record, available to pre-order on Transparent Red vinyl, cassette, and CD.
