Electropunk juggernaut ‘STRAIGHT GIRL’ is the alias of Leeds-based composer and producer Remy Enceladus (non-binary | they/them pronouns).
Heralded for their ‘magnetic and exhilarating’ live performances, the self-branded ‘connoisseur of sad-dance’ has been bulldozing their way through alternative, electronic, and progressive scenes across the continent since 2019.
Name dropped by Dream Wife in VICE’s ‘Ones To Watch 2023’ and declared 'ferocious' by Radio 1's own Alyx Holcombe, STRAIGHT GIRL has stamped their signature ‘grave rave’ sound across the UK and beyond, from support slots with Kero Kero Bonito, Dream Wife, and Lynks to name a few, to securing merciless festival performances at the likes of 2000 Trees, Deershed, ArcTanGent, Live At Leeds, Sound City, and more.
Their most recent work featured as a collaboration with Artio on their single ‘Sertraline’ released on Slam Dunk records, and their original 7” single ‘Limón’, released in November 2020 via Come Play With Me, achieved widespread critical success, landing in the Guardian Top 5 Tracks of the Week alongside Rina Sawayama and Megan Thee Stallion.
