SEX CELLS are an experimental synth-led musical project by Crook & Vincent
Formed in Peckham, 2015, SEX CELLS issued a self-release EP, Avenge Miriam, which gained support from key figures of South London’s underground music community, such as Meatraffle. Relocating to a vast office space in Whitechapel in 2016 - dubbed Nightmare Hall - SEX CELLS formed Pretty Ugly Records, where they caught the attention of Sean McLusky (Subway Sect), who in turn introduced the pair to Buzzcocks manager Raf E. A series of single releases produced by Dave M Allen (The Cure) culminated in the 2020 mini-album 'That's Life'. With an eclectic sound and visual identity inspired by surrealist and punk ethos, SEX CELLS have continued to evolve, with artwork and videos produced independently in-house, incorporating an array of influences which are evident across their broad catalogue of work.

"Bowie-meets-Blondie ... it's minimal, brutalist and East Berlin" - Raw Meat
