Bad Bangs

Bad Bangs are back with ‘Contest’, a punk-laced track that questions the fabric of an industry hell bent on image and conformity. The first offering since their 2021 debut album Character Building, ‘Contest’ comes out alongside a chaotic carnivalesque music video, shot by Melbourne-It-Thing directorial duo Lincoln Healey + Evie Vlah.

Bad Bangs spent the better half of 2023 in the studio, live tracking with the masterful Paul Maybury (Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, The Murlocs, Rocket Science), taking time to refine their songwriting and add further nuances to their ever-evolving take on garage rock. Maybury captures the bands’ enigmatic live energy, whilst mastering by Jim Diamond (Ghetto Recorders, The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs) secures the signature gritty yet sunshiney sound of the band.

With a staple cult following in their hometown of Melbourne, 2024 is set to see the band travel to brand new garage rock realms in Australia and beyond, with further exciting news of touring, and new music with Blossom Rot Records to come.
