Paris Raine is a musician who harks from Kent in the blissful and idle village of Shoreham where Blake once walked in ancient times.
He takes his influence from the sublime, the mysterious, the romantic, the ethereal and spiritual. What gives him his impetuous is moments where music and poetry whispers to him in the most unsuspect places. His music is like a chameleon it changes colour yet the form is always the same.
His greatest inspirations are Bjork, Radiohead, Scott Walker, Bowie, Ravel and Stravinsky.
These are not songs per se but compositions. Sometimes haunting, sometimes sad, sometimes euphoric. At the very least the music attempts to pick you out of this dull world and show you the magic behind all things, behind love, behind the man walking down the street, the everyday sensations of experience.
He is a man with many pies playing and performing in projects such as the spiritual jazz band Levitation Orchestra; the progressive electronic outfit PÆN and composer of chamber music including scores for the award winning Seagull by Ned Caderni.
