Pales are more assertive than ever with their new EP ‘CRUSH,’ available from 07 February 2025. This second record stands out from its predecessor (In Our Hands? - 2022) and marks a departure from the band's earlier style, breaking away from their initial post-punk roots. ‘CRUSH’ is more brutal, more unapologetic: a 25-minute monolith where Industrial, Noise, and Pop clash in an unprecedented sonic battle. Through Infrarouge’s artwork, ‘CRUSH’ unveils its dual to smash forcefully until destroyed" and "a fleeting feeling of romantic attraction."
In March 2021, a chance meeting over improvisations sealed the fate of PALES. The result of this fusion was PALES, whose machinery was born in the depths of Strasbourg. Dancing in a circle around a brazier, they dissect the great engine of sound to improve it, piece by piece. Make, unmake, then make again, to go even faster, even further. Unheard of at the Printemps de Bourges festival in 2023, PALES propagate a style overhanging post-punk, invisible to the radar of propriety. Tanned leather, thick rind, the stage becomes their playground, where torment proves to be their honey: the two guitars rip each other to shreds; the bass hammers our ribcage; the drums roll down the infernal slope of rhythm; and at the center of this great fever bath, the voice bewitches and possesses us. It's impossible to escape PALES, which, like a sonic mantra, becomes embedded in your mind and never leaves, infusing reality with an aura of beauty. PALES already has everything it takes to position itself as the spearhead of a new generation on the French rock scene. In the space of two years, they have played over sixty concerts in clubs and at major French festivals such as Décibulles, Cabaret Vert, FIMU and the Crossroads festival.
