Praised by The Strokes producer Gordon Raphael and Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones and supported by the likes of Clash and DIY magazine and Apple’s Beats Radio London based Ora Violet were born in 2019 after long time friends Nick, Tim and Will played a handful of gigs in Italy as a back up band for a local artist – impromptu jam sessions between soundchecks resulted in honey, you did it, their first feral 3 minutes garage rock single. The band deliver a sonic boom of fresh rock and roll that fuses the early 70s proto punk of The Stooges and The Modern Lovers with the modem versatility of Raconteurs and Queens Of The Stone Age.
Core members are the producers Black Tiles' William Durzu and TJ Walters, guitarist Nick Ferman, vocalist Jeet Mulkerj and Adam Liston on bass.
“I like their energy, it reminds me of The Stooges” – Matt Wilkinson, Beats Radio
‘Delicious is a coy piece of seductive gender fuckery, one that gleefully plays with the lines of sexuality’ - Clash ‘Ora Violet proves guitar music is not just very much alive, but thriving if you know where to look’ - EarMilk ‘Ora Violet are one of those outfits you find that instantly steal your heart. If you are into good rock with a modern twist, this is the band for you’ - Clout ‘An exciting new track (Delicious) from this mysterious rock outfit’ - DYI
