“Magnificent” The Sunday Times
“Horn-fuelled filth-funk, where punk & jazz combine in grimy circumstances” NME
“Opus Kink have crafted a world for themselves which seems theirs alone to conquer” So Young
“A frenetic groove-filled glimpse of what’s to come” DIY
“One of the UK’s most exciting new bands” Clash
“Always at the peril of derailing but somehow still in control – the adrenaline rush that comes from both situations is addictive" Dork
Brighton indie specialists Opus Kink release ‘I Wanna Live With You’ (Warmduscher version), out today (February 13th) via Hideous Mink Records (Alien Chicks, Fake Turins, Black Bordello) & SO Recordings (Enter Shikari, Deadletter, Big Special).
Teaming with the post-punk outfit for a rework of their newest single, Opus Kink are busy gearing up for their most thrilling year yet, culminating in their biggest headline show to date at London’s iconic Electric Ballroom on 7th November, and preceded by a host of festival appearances throughout the UK and Europe in the coming months.
Armed with their ever-mutating brand of jazz-and-country-laced punk, the enigmatic sextet have already drawn enormous acclaim across the press landscape (The Sunday Times, The Independent, NME, DIY, So Young, Dork, Clash, Rough Trade, Under The Radar) following the release of debut EP ’Til The Stream Runs Dry’, and its tantalising 2023 follow-up ‘My Eyes, Brother!’, whilst on the airwaves, the band have notched up two appearances on the BBC 6 Music playlist (Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Huw Stephens) and countless BBC 1 Radio spins (Jack Saunders).
Speaking ahead of its release, both acts explained:“Opus Kink & Warmduscher present the very moment that Clams Baker Jr. fell in love at the disco. Clams B and the mighty Witherer of Warmduscher have skinned, boned and recalibrated Opus Kink’s gutter-pop romance ‘I Wanna Live With You’ and the resulting dish slips down the throat with lusty ease. Enjoy responsibly. Salt the dancefloor and fire up the blue Rolls Royce. Nothing will ever not be the same.”
Opus Kink’s ‘I Wanna Live With You’ (Warmduscher version) is out now via Hideous Mink Records & SO Recordings and available on all digital platforms.
Opus Kink is Angus Rogers (lead vocals, guitars), Sam Abbo (bass, backing vocals), Fin Abbo (drums, percussion), Jazz Pope (keys, synth, backing vocals), Jack Banjo Courtney (trumpet), Jed Morgans (saxophone)
