ABOUT THIS BAND

Minaxi are an alternative rock band from Brooklyn. Consisting of songwriters Shrenik Ganatra and Liam Christian, and drummer Steve Carlin, Minaxi's sound combines elements from classical, pop and rock music from India and Pakistan with psychedelia, shoegazing, dream pop, noise rock and electronica.

Minaxi has self-released over 30 songs via several EPs, singles and a studio album. The band is set to release their second studio album in 2022. It features collaborations with Minaxi's friends, the legendary dhol player, percussionist and composer Sunny Jain and Slowdive's Simon Scott.

Minaxi has played several shows in the Brooklyn music scene, appeared on Manhattan's Sugar Water Babies radio and Radio Free Brooklyn, and performed live at Brooklyn's Leesta Vall Recording Studio. The band's music has appeared in several local and international publications including Rolling Stone India, Rock Street Journal, The Deli Magazine, Look at my Records, Bands Do Brooklyn and Rats on the Run.
