city: LondonMF Tomlinson's upcoming second album We Are Still Wild Horses stands partially as a document of the year after ‘the year everything changed’, necessitated as a way out of the "the deep sadness in the winter of 2021". Written in the time when the days were the shortest, it speaks in the language and logic of dreams. In the dramatic sonic landscapes in which these songs unfold; a remarkable journey deep into the self is taking place.
Tomlinson says of the album: “At both ends of the album there is an abyss: one is darkness, the other is the unknown. By the time you make it from one end to the other, you find the abyss has been filled up with stars.”
Tomlinson's releases to date are widely praised by publications including DIY Magazine, Mojo Magazine, Gigwise, NME, Beats Per Minute, Notion, Northern Transmissions, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash Magazine, Secret Meeting, The Rodeo alongside radio support from BBC 6Music and Radio X.
In recent years, MF and his collaborators ‘The MF’s’ continue to garner a reputation as a world class live band, a spot on this year’s Latitude Festival followed personal invitations from Dry Cleaning and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever to support, alongside numerous sold-out headline shows at venues including MOTH Club, The Lexington and The Shacklewell Arms.
In previous projects MF has shared stages with members of Metronomy and Friendly Fires and supported Warpaint, Amen Dunes, Franz Ferdinand, The Polyphonic Spree, Justice, amongst others.
