"Proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with, Langkamer are a band that have everything to offer." Gigwise
“They manage to strike a balance between feeling punchy and succinct, but also laidback an cosy" Uncut
"A band at the top of their game with no plateau in sight...a jewel in Bristol’s crown." Wax Music
Ahead of a clutch of UK dates this December, Bristol slacker quartet Langkamer today (23rd Nov) share melancholic new cut 'Jenny' via Breakfast Records (Getdown Services).
Written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by the band in their Bristol base, 'Jenny' is bright and bittersweet, wrapped up in the warmth of succinct guitar melodies and heartfelt, off-kilter lyrics. With a catchy chorus to boot, 'Jenny' also provides one of the more emotionally candid offerings in the band's already expansive repertoire, as Langkamer themselves explain:
“Jenny is a song about vulnerability and self-defence. About the walls that some people put up around themselves to try and stay safe. Some people have this veneer of bravado and distance, but it only serves to make them weaker and more vulnerable.”
Charming listeners with their infectious, country-infused slacker-indie, Langkamer have released two acclaimed albums, an EP, and string of standalone singles in the space of two years, collaborating with the likes of Willie J Healey, Katy J Pearson, Fenne Lily and Clara Mann during this prolific period. Prodigiously gigging during that time too, the quartet have played to sold-out rooms across the UK and Europe, and shared stages with the likes of Mystery Jets, Jeffrey Lewis, The Wave Pictures, and Opus Kink.
Garnering support from the mainstream and independent music press all the while, Uncut, Gigwise, Yuck, Brooklyn Vegan, Wax, Clunk, BBC Radio 6Music (Mark Radcliffe, Steve Lamacq, and Tom Robinson) and Amazing Radio (Shell Zener, Charlie Ashcroft and Frankie Francis) are among the many who have pledged their support for the group.
Langkamer are Dan Anthony (guitar/vocals), Josh Jarman (Drums/vocals), Tom Kelly (Bass/vocals), Ed Soles (guitar/organ/percussion/vocals)
