Korine is a Philadelphia-based electronic pop duo consisting of members Morgy Ramone and Trey Frye. The pair blends new wave nostalgia with modern pop sensibilities, contrasting upbeat rhythms against sullen, emotionally evocative lyrics. The band's latest offering "Sunshine" released March 26th on Born Losers Records.
"The track features the band’s skill for twinkling synths that blur together like lights on the freeway at night; their sound is vibrant and based in dramatic melodies, but this single is more complicated in its demeanor than the bright title might suggest. There are seconds where “Sunshine” possibly details looking back on past relationships, which then pivot into moments of heated bitterness that erode any possible regret.
