city: LeedsSplicing avant-funk, dance punk & breakbeats, Hang Linton is an interdisciplinary artist based in Leeds. After cutting their teeth in Berlin across multiple projects & collectives, Hang has landed on home soil & is ready to make his mark.
"Something completely unique about this project"
Westley Holdsworth, PRS for music
Their art is a rebellion against clean aesthetics, inspired by past experiences, changing global events & the ugliness in the world. It's not pretty - but it's important & Hang will make sure you enjoy the ride.
"If I’m transported like I was with this, the artist is doing something right!" Alex Ives, Big Dada / Ninja Tune
Armed with a setup of a sampler, synths & visuals, Hang bends your ear around the counterculture sounds & movements that have shaped him.
When Hang Linton left a cult-like pyramid scheme, he found himself in a new city called Berlin. Having been indoctrinated into cutthroat capitalism, he then found a new way of thinking. It was only natural that Hang would express his experiences. After all, isn't everything just a tale waiting to be sold? The track 'SALE' ft. LeBron Aggressive is a surreal take on reality. Everything & anything comes with a price tag. Including yourself.
Now living in Leeds, Hang wanted to tie past experiences, places & relationships together.
“I met LeBron Aggressive while living in Berlin, we started a collective & threw our own parties, real DIY expat vibes that we felt the city was missing” states Hang. “This track is the start of new artistic explorations after removing creative limitations & expanding collaborative efforts. I am expressing myself & the issues I care about by blending sounds & crossing sonic avenues.”
