Buffet Lunch

'For Display Purposes Only' was written and recorded by Buffet Lunch across the hot summer and cold winter of 2022. We set up shop at Mushroom Studios, Inveresk Industrial Estate, Musselburgh and had a wonderful time.

Jayne Dent (Me Lost Me, Bitchfinder General), Iain McCall (Kaputt, Lylo) and Joe Howe (Banana Oil) joined in with additional vocals, saxophones, piano and organs, adding a beautiful melodic thread running through an album that references cooking dinner for Brian Eno, industrial heritage, past occupations, self-value, self-modification, art, fortified castles, land rights, heaven, King Charlie's hands, Hexham heads and the birth of a child (amongst other things).

The album cover, with photography by Owen Godbert & Matteo Crawford, seeks to reference every song in things that we own.
