Broadsheets hail from as far afield as Latvia and New Zealand, and reflect this multifaceted background in their blending of diverse sonics and unconventional approach to songwriting, with members swapping instruments and roles across songs that twist uniquely into unpredictable shapes. Featuring members of Bristol alternative stalwarts Ex Agent, Foot Foot, and Rothmans.
Expanding on the Trip-Hop derived rhythms and emotional delivery of previous singles “Chevron" and "Repainted”, Broadsheets' new single "Chapel Bells" shrouds Laura Kristapaite’s plaintive vocal line in a seductive soundscape of gothic synths and mechanical rhythms that explodes into a bruising climax evoking the emo-industrial clangor of Have a Nice Life.
As the first single from upcoming ep “Train Dreams”, “Chapel Bells” introduces the swirl of disparate sounds that Broadsheets explore across the E.P’s five tracks. Due for release in June, "Train Dreams" is the first extended release from Bristol's Broadsheets, following their formation at iconic Bristol jam night Improv's Greatest Hits in 2022.
