'Stay Put Sunshine’ is the new EP from Dublin's Big Sleep, a collection of songs that the band penned over the last 12 months packed with garage rock and alternative feels. This is the third EP from the rising act featuring the singles ‘Go’, 'Daisy', 'All My Friends' and 'Two Cents' earlier this year which reached number 4 in the Irish Breakers Radio Charts. 'Stay Put Sunshine' was recorded and produced by Chris Ryan (NewDad, Just Mustard, Robocobra Quartet) in Start Together Studios, Belfast in December 2023. Mixed and mastered by Tone Def (Briston Maroney, Green Day). ‘Stay Put Sunshine’ will be out on October 2nd 2024.
Quote about the EP:
"‘Stay Put Sunshine' is an ode to all of the things that have made our lives full since starting this journey of being in this band; friendship, love, heartbreak and art. Some songs capture our experiences from the road, getting to play shows around Europe and the journey that pursuing art for a career has brought us on. Other songs are about falling in and out of love, experiences we've all been lucky enough to share and be by each other's side for since being in this band. Working with Chris Ryan on the EP was a blast especially since we've been fans of his work with NewDad and Just Mustard for a while now. Since then he feels like part of the band too. We recorded over the course of a week in Belfast, partly in Start Together Studios but overdubs were done in Chris' home studio. Then we found a Nashville based producer, Tone Def to mix the EP through listening to Briston Maroney to bring it all together."
The Dublin-based group partly came together at school and other's later joined through the city's live music scene. Blending alternative influences with rock, pop and indie-soul the Irish-Italian outfit takes influence from acts such as The Cure, Pixies, J.J. Cale, and Big Thief. Since their debut EP release in June 2022, Big Sleep have toured around Europe, received regular international radio play and featured on heavyweight Spotify editorials like New Music Friday, The Other List, All New Rock to name a few. 2023 was a sell out year for the upcoming act who sold out headliners across Dublin, London and Berlin alongside festival appearances at All Together Now, Indiependence and Electric Picnic. The band were also awarded the accolade as one of RTÉ's Rising Artists of 2024. Just off the back of a sold out Camden Assembly London Show and a hectic festival season, Big Sleep have another winter European Tour to come before the year is out with the calendar already filling up for 2025.
