"Fine indie pop from Big Sleep... giving me Libertines vibes with the vocals." Nialler9
'Fingerlickin' Goodness' is the latest infectious indie guitar bop from Dublin's Big Sleep. The track is inspired by the sounds of Alvvays, Spacey Jane and Big Thief, and is the impact track from the band's sophomore 'Isn't That Sweet' EP.
Quote about the song:
'Fingerlickin' Goodness' is a track inspired by our love of soul and R&B artists like Otis Redding, Anderson.Paak, and Leon Bridges. Aidan and Naiara both come from a jazz background so it felt pretty natural when this song came about after a jam one day during rehearsals. It was one of the trickier songs to record on the upcoming EP but when we tracked the vocals, Naiara's BVs really brought it all together and we knew it had to make the cut.
With recent profile supports in Dublin for CVC and Do Nothing, a jam packed Ireland Music Week showcase, a forthcoming 'sold out' Dublin show and a London headline gig on sale, Big Sleep are having a very busy time of it and are well positioned for an international breakthrough in 2024.
The Irish-Italian outfit partly met at school and others later joined after meeting through the city's live music scene. With indie-pop qualities that blend alternative rock and soul sounds, Big Sleep cite artists like Big Thief, JJ Cale, Jamiroquai and The Cure as influences. It's been a busy year for the quartet. In the last 12 months since their Debut EP release, they've toured with Somebody's Child, received international radio play (BBC R1, Radio X, RTÉ 2FM) with features on major Spotify editorials (New Music Friday, Hot New Bands & All New Rock) and toured internationally across Europe.
