Fronted by Isle of Wight-born Jess Baker alongside her younger sister Boo, Ugly Ozo explore, among other things, themes of feminine rage, revenge and supernatural horrors - read: Area 51 Conspiracies and making out with the Devil. In the words of Baker herself, “Ugly Ozo will leave you feeling empowered, bewitched, and ultimately a bit freaked out.”

Released via cult Portsmouth label Strong Island Recordings - responsible for early offerings from Los Bitchos, Ugly, Rosie Alena and Anona (The New Eves) - debut single ‘Remains’ tells a gutsy tale of betrayal and revenge via a sonic blend of Breeders-esque alt-rock anthems and Pretty Sick’s steely grunge. 

Mixed by Guy Page (Coach Party), and accompanied by an occultic music video of church altars, grave digging, tarot cards and circle candles, Jess offers further insight into the track:
