Why Horses? are a five-piece collective channeling post-punk grit, post-disco rhythm, and dance-punk urgency into something raw, romantic, and completely their own. Loud, weird, and wired with poetic energy, their sound pulses with tension and release—equal parts intimacy and chaos.
Formed by long-time collaborators Gabriel Lester (Guitar/Vocals), Les Davies (Bass), and Hadi Checri (Percussion), and expanded with William Dadswell (Violin) and Dilibe Aneke (Guitar), the band emerged from late-night Cardiff rehearsals into something stranger and more cinematic than they first imagined.
‘A clacking, bass-thudding skulk-athon of Cramps-like psychobilly mixed in with the skeletal post-disco of mutant pioneers like Delta 5 – Why Horses?’ new single ‘I’ve Got A Fever’ – conjures the kind of phantasmal supernaturalism that could well be lurking right at the bottom of your leafy suburban street.’ - So Young Magazine
