ABOUT THIS BAND

Born out of a basement home studio in Stokes Croft, Bristol, Tungz are a self-produced hifi bedroom pop four piece delivering shimmering grooves, funk beats and friendship. Nicky Green, Jamie Maier, Rick Holland and Ollie Horne first came together as friends playing in the melting pot of funk and disco bands that surrounded them in the Bristol scene. Initially inspired by club nights and parties Tungz set out to produce dance music as a band but hit a snag when Nicky and Jamie couldn’t bring themselves to write lyrics about dancing. Now their tales of heartbreaks and introspection float across a bed of psychedelic funk inspired electronic beats as Tungz soundtrack all your saddest parties.   Press support comes in the form of industry gatekeeps such as The Line of Best Fit, Clash, COLORS, London In Stereo, Dummy Mag, Hilly Dilly, and Alona Chemerys. Similarly, some of the UKs most trusted ears have lent radio support with Jack Saunders, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart, Jamz Supernova, John Kennedy, BBC Introducing, Selector Radio, Amazing Radio and Soho Radio all lining up to call themselves fans.
