London newcomers Terra Twin announce forthcoming debut EP ‘Head Leaking’ (pre-order here), set for release January 26th, and share brooding new single ‘Hanging Around’, out today (October 25th).
Marshalled by enigmatic bandleader Maxim Baldry, Terra Twin have been developing quite the reputation across the capital with their early live shows , leading to supports for acts including L’objectif and HighSchool, as well as debut festival appearances at the likes of Left Of The Dial.
Significant acclaim for their Americana-tinged indie has already surfaced from key indie press champions NME, Rolling Stone UK, DIY and The Independent, whilst BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Radio X’s John Kennedy have both thrown their support behind the emerging quartet, with fanfare sure to build further following the announcement of their forthcoming EP.
Partnering with revered producer James Dring (Gorillaz, Self Esteem, Sorry, Jamie T) for their new material, Baldry discussed the origins of ‘Hanging Around’: “I was feeling really alienated in a relationship whilst writing this song. The song explores hatred and loneliness coming together and forming this messy, dark feeling.”
Terra Twin’s ’Hanging Around’ is out now and available on all digital platforms.

Detailing the video, director and actor George Sear explained: "With a handful of rolls of 8mm, we headed out to the winding roads of Pioneertown. The rugged landscape was the perfect location for our central character - who navigates the desert, hitchhiking and sustaining himself on pickles. It’s a trippy poem - encapsulating the meandering frustrations we all feel in life when we don’t quite know where to go, but must trek on."
The band added: "We asked our pal, George, to head into the desert with 80 eggs and an 8mm camera to film some stuff for our song, 'Hanging Around'. He came up with some mind bending narrative about a Paris Texas looking fella with jar of pickles waiting for a ride home."
