Halifax NS’s Shoulder Season is Karen Foster, Mel Sturk, Kristina Parlee and Meg Yoshida. Veterans of the Halifax music scene, past and present members of Safeword, Darts, Smaller Hearts, Century Egg, the Maynards, Bad Vibrations and many more. With a mix of influences from indie rock and punk to poppier inclinations, Shoulder Season’s catchy synth driven songs pull from the experiences of women with a sense of social justice and a critical eye on the systems that create the world we live in. Their most recent single “Why Would I?” was released in September 2023 and received comparisons to Beach Bunny, The Muffs and The Beths.
