ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Shaylee is the songwriting project and avatar of Elle Archer, a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter based in Portland, Oregon. Toeing the line between power pop, post-rock, and psych-rock, Elle's music feels immediately familiar and totally unique. DIY to the core, everything you hear on a Shaylee song was played by Elle herself in her home studio, including the mixing. Shaylee exists as an outlet for Elle to journal her life through music, so with each successive album, you'll get to know her a little more. After all, she gets to know herself better, too. In 2019, Elle dropped the first two Shaylee records, Bring It out of Me and The Life & Misadventures of Shaylee & Tarantula, chronicling her teenage years and her transition in her early twenties. In 2020, Shaylee was signed to Kill Rock Stars, who dropped their cover of Elliott Smith's Alphabet Town shortly thereafter. Later in 2020, Shaylee's debut single Audrey was released as a 7" vinyl single on Kill Rock Stars, along with a haunting music video.
