Rosie Alena is back with her new single, “Adore Me”, which is out now via untitled (recs). Rosie’s previous releases have a classic feel to them, and “Adore Me” is no different; built around the piano, the subtly unconventional songwriting allows Rosie’s voice to float over the music with a serene power. Initially written as a stream of consciousness poem, Rosie spent many nights adapting the verse to piano, and the finished production maintains the song's original rawness offering a darker, more vulnerable sensibility.
Rosie Alena explains, “I wanted “Adore me” to command attention whilst also maintaining a sense of vulnerability. For me the song represents the desire to present a perfect lifestyle; controlling how we are perceived by others. Life’s a show and we all play our part. We all yearn to be adored.”
“Adore Me” follows the soulful and timeless “God’s Garden” and “The Light”, which were both released earlier this year and will festure on her debut EP ‘Pixelated Images’ which is due for release on 23 February 2022 via untitled (recs).
Taking influence from Joni Mitchell and Angel Olsen to Tori Amos, Sufjan Stevens and Esperanza Spalding, Rosie played her first gig when she was just 14 at the 12 Bar Club in Soho and has been enchanting audiences with her eclectic compositions and goosebump-inducing vocal capabilities ever since. After producer Oli Barton-Wood (Porridge Radio, Nilufer Yanya) spotted her at a show in Peckham, they decamped to his studio earlier this year for some fruitful recording sessions.
Blessed with a wealth of highly-skilled musicians as friends including black midi, Olivia Dean and Blossom Caldarone, Rosie’s rotating but consistently excellent backing band have gigged relentlessly when allowed, winning her fans across the capital and beyond.
