Following his guest appearance on Metronomy’s 2021 ‘Posse’ mixtape, Peckham’s all seeing wordsmith, Pinty, releases his first new music of 2022 via Winged Feet. Continuing the collaborative hot-streak that he’s forged over the last two years - within which he has also worked with King Krule, Emma-Jean Thackray and Tomos to name a few - Pinty has partnered up with Virginia-via-Berlin electronica star Afriqua on new single ‘P-I-N-T-Y’.

Spelling out the rising star’s name in the title leaves no excuse for getting the milk-pint-lover’s name wrong now! On the track itself, Afriqua crafts a light-footed, bass-heavy, house groove with some jazz-funk synth flourishes that sits perfectly under Pinty’s affable flow.

“Having spent years correcting people’s pronunciation of Afriqua, I know the struggle is real. I’m honored to help Pinty set the record straight once and for all on this anthem. We’re gonna be saying his name a lot more!” (AFRIQUA)

The track is accompanied with a playful video directed by Owain E Morgan who offered the following about the video: “P-I-N-T-Y IS his theme tune so I treated it a bit like a TV intro for the snazzy blue suited MC. We took visual cues from Sensual Seduction and Park Life, but adding some bombastic typography and animation into the mix to further bring Pinty’s oh so playful personality to the forefront.”

2021 saw the release of his EP ‘Tomorrow’s Where I’m At’ - a future-thinking fusion of classic, two-step house beats and perceptive, MC-like narrations of life and loss in London. Two singles from ‘Tomorrow’s Where I’m At’ was hand-picked by Annie Mac as her Track Of The Week at BBC Radio 1.

Catch Pinty and Afriqua live at the London launch party March 19th at Peckham Carpet Shop. Pinty has also just been announced as support for the Rejjie Snow tour.
