Pinty announces new Mixtape ‘Pinty’s House’ that continues his collaborative streak, working with Karma Kid, Catching Cairo, Afriqua, DJ JD Sports AKA King Krule and more big names to be announced.
‘Flex/On My Own’, produced by Karma Kid are the first tracks to be taken from the mixtape. Between both tracks, Pinty continues to show his eclectic sound, refusing to be pigeonholed. With nods to Boy In Da Corner era Dizzee on ‘Flex’, ‘On My Own’ shifts the mood, effortlessly blending elements of jazz, garage and house. This new release showcases the versatility, nuance and creative breadth of the South-London wordsmith.
From Pinty on both tracks - “'Flex’ is all about me being free, having fun and not being too serious. As soon as I heard the beat (shout out to Karma Kid!) it took me back to being to my teenage bedroom listening to Dizzee and classic grime. I took those influences and made a tune influenced by those carefree days.
On the flip side ’On My Own’ is about me on my lonesome on the walk home after the party.”
Both made together in one session, production comes from Sam Knowles AKA Karma Kid (recently produced hits for Shygirl and Connie Constance). Pinty is no stranger to big collaborations, having already worked with King Krule, Metronomy and Emma-Jean Thackray, and can now add trainspotting titan Francis Bourgeois to the list, as he cameos in the joint video for ‘Flex / On My Own’.
