PAPER TAPES

Native of Lyon, now based in Paris, Cyril Angleys creates his own vision of pop music under the pseudonym Paper Tapes. Influenced by 70’s film score, and adventurous pop band such as Air and Stereolab, Paper Tapes released its first EP « Homecoming » in 2020, revealing an ethereal bedroom pop, always on the edge. This new material is well received media-wise, with the notable appreciation of David Dean Burkhart.

Moving to the next step, the French composer recorded his first album « Child » recorded in Paris during lockdown. With this new record, Cyril Angleys is following his pop exploration with unlighted guitars and dreamy synths. “Child” will be out on November 2023 on Geographie Records.
