Otala are itching for their next single, “Everything but the Hate” to be released to the world on Thursday, 19th September. Marking a pivotal moment for the Nottingham-based band, as they unveil their most mature and refined sound yet.
Over the summer, the band spent three days in the studio with Nathan Ridley, known for his work with Blue Bendy and Plantoid, Ridley helped craft their forthcoming EP, “Fire! To the River” due in February 2O25 on Lil Chop Record Shop. The single offers a first glimpse into the EP, blending their signature fusion of post-rock, jazz, post-punk, and spoken word with a fresh, cohesive intensity.
To celebrate the single, Otala will embark on their first headline tour, performing across four cities in late September. They’ll hit London on the 2Oth, Brighton on the 22nd, Nottingham on the 23rd (SOLD OUT), and Sheffield on the 26th. This run of shows will offer fans a chance to experience the band’s newest with a captivating live performance, seamlessly moving between soothing instrumentals and explosive, chaotic moments.
“Fire! To The River” sees Otala’s ambition to further embed themselves in the wider UK/EU music scene, with another new single due before in January, upcoming EP, and more touring, Otala are solidifying themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting and genre-defying emerging acts. Their journey is just beginning, and 2O25 promises to be a defining year.
