At just seventeen years old, Nolan Trotter has released three albums. The prolific teen creates “psychedelic-pop tinged into the vibes of Indie-Rock”, says Sleeping Bag Studios. As a multi-instrumentalist, Trotter writes, records, and produces all of his music in his bedroom studio in Chicago. Having studied filmmaking for two years at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, Nolan combines his cinematic eye with his production technique creating musical architecture. His drive for music at such a young age has allowed him to create a very unique style that sets him apart from any other artist.
Nolan’s next record hits the shelves on May 14th. This record combines the pop aspect of his album If You Could Only Realize with the melancholic beauty of his second album Demo. The Album’s single “Honey, Do!” has been described as “beautifully rich bass-lines that have a similarly inspired melodic bounce to’em like you’d find in the vibrant creativity of a band like Stereolab, with dreamy vocals that infuse genuine poetry into endearing tones that connect straight to the soul”. “Mindstream” is a collection of odyssey-like songs written during his sophomore year of high school. Dealing with social anxieties and the overall depression of growing up, Trotter’s optimism shines through and captures the listener’s heart. Nolan plans on a series of music videos to follow his next release. With such a large and promising portfolio, one can only imagine how far he’ll go.
