Joe and I met in an essay class during our first year of college at NYU. We shared interests and began work on this project in late September-early October. We would brainstorm in New York cafes and get to know each other better. Joe drafted the storyboard and outline and assembled a crew of talented artists that went to school with us. He called me up late one night and said something along the lines of "pull up, I have the crew here". I showed up and to my amazement, they had completely covered the walls, ceiling, and floor with cardboard. The set was fantastic and the makeup on Clarissa was very vibrant and unique. There was an underlying excitement from everyone there. We filmed my scenes the next day and the process moved along. Over the next few months, Joe and his team finished up the coloring, editing, and VFX. While this was happening I was working on the final mix of the song and then sent it to my peer Arthur Caplan who mastered the track. The end of this project is sweet and nostalgic. The earliest version of this song I can find was written in 2020 when I was a junior in high school. It's amazing to see how far it's come after all the times I gave up on it. I hope you enjoy "But With Love" or as my band likes to call it,, "Butt Love". - Nolan
