Noble Rot, is the studio project of Alex Edkins (Metz, Weird Nightmare) and Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck). The duo first began working together in 2011, when Walsh was brought onboard to work on the first Metz album, the two sonic explorers have remained in a state of creative orbit ever since. Their debut LP together as Noble Rot, Heavenly Bodies, Repetition, Control shows Edkins and Walsh joyously stepping outside and beyond the lines drawn by their previous work. The culmination of 12 months of feverish studio experimentation, Heavenly Bodies, Repetition, Control takes inspiration from film soundtracks, experimental noise, kosmiche muzik, ambient, psychedelia and more.
While their distinct musical sensibilities remain intact, Edkins' knack for red-lined melody and Walsh's inclination for dancefloor romps have not dulled, Noble Rot provides the duo with a new vehicle for pushing their boundaries of sonic exploration and rewards the listener with an enthralling LP filled to the brim with unbridled musical curiosity and boundless excitement that is sure to surprise and thrill longtime fans and periphery lurkers alike.
