ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Møziz is a Montreal-based artist/DJ originating from the Ivory Coast. The plurality of settings, cultures, and personalities even within his family unit broadened the young artist’s perspective and left an undeniable imprint that can be felt through his work. Starting to dabble with music production at the age of 17, the West African young man got scouted for fashion modelling, whisking him away to a new set of travels across the runways of luxury brands such as Vetements, Marni, and Casablanca. Being exposed to the business aspect of the industry, Møziz (of his real name Aziz) Co-Founds the creative collective LINKS with hopes of bridging the gap between Montreal’s eclectic creative youth and brands that can benefit from those talents in a non-exploitative fashion. A portmanteau of Mozart and Aziz, Møziz represents a generation of polymaths fully in control of their capabilities creating the world they wish to inhabit. Inspired by a broad spectrum of artists from Aphex Twin to Majid Jordan, electronic music, African rhythmics, and Ambient / RnB melodies, Møziz attempts to encapsulate emotions and ideologies within sound. “HUMANKIND”, the opening track of his twelve-track debut album “E-motion: Time Machine” is a mission statement reflecting on current times, being an emotional being in the digital age, and our collective hope for a light at the end of the tunnel.
