Alex Wilcox is an American music producer and DJ based in Berlin.
He burst onto the scene when Anetha discovered his sizzling banger “Sleep Paralysis” which led to his Mama Told Ya EP titled - “It’s Okay to Cry.” As reviewed by Resident Advisor, this “oddball” techno release was quickly played by Nina Kraviz, Ellen Allien, Mama Snake, Francois X, and countless others.
The release caught the attention of label heads around the world, eventually leading to his recent EPs “123” released on Ellen Allien's UFO inc and "Always" on Nina Kraviz's label Trip Recordings. These EP expanded on Alex’s deep and multi-faceted musical background - showcasing surgical, banging, hooky techno with clever and unexpected song progressions that push boundaries and is being played by SPFDJ, Bjarki, Patrick Mason, Anetha, Salome, AADJA, UR TRAX, Anfisa Letyago, Justin Jay, and many more.
Alex has played at RSO (Berlin), Abyss (Shanghai), Nexus (Paris), Steppe Arena (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia), The Ground (Miami), PAL (Hamburg), and countless other cities in the past year.
His sets feature only his own productions and can be described as a genre-less chaotic whirlwind involving hard cuts, numerous BPM changes and existential theatrical moments.
Alex continues to expand his universe of unique, progressive, bombastic, catchy, and surreal club music with ridiculous releases on the way.
