Merging a dynamic curio of melodic guitars, disconcerting monologues and a rhythm section both technical and unruly, London’s Legss create a wholly unique sound. Composed of Louis Grace (drums, piano), Ned Green (guitars, vocals), Jake Martin (bass) and Max Oliver (guitars), the four-piece take inspiration from a plethora of literary and visual works as well as London’s sprawling urban landscape. After meeting and forming in London, Legss released their darkly satirical 2019 debut EP Writhing Comedy, which caught the attention of key tastemakers BBC 6 Music’s Huw Stephens (‘Ones to Watch 2020’) and John Kennedy from Radio X (playlist). Just a year later, the band’s much-anticipated, genre-bending sophomore EP Doomswayers was released in the shadow of the pandemic, championed by BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and BBC Radio 6’s Steve Lamacq, who later went on to premiere the band’s follow-up single Hyde Park Coroner (2021). Pivotal to Legss’ immersive soundscape is the band’s distinctly feverish visual world in which frontman Ned Green’s perturbed protagonists are truly awakened. Such ambitious visual and musical works have garnered the band a firm grip in the press world, with continued support from the likes of NPR, The Quietus, Loud & Quiet, The Independent, Metal Magazine, HERO Magazine, DIY, The Daily Star, Gigwise, So Young Magazine and many more.
