"Charming...spellbinding...entrancing" - Stereogum
“a solid set of atmospheric dream-pop combining shimmering keyboards and guitars with lyrics of anxiety and dislocation.” - KEXP
“carves a viscerally satisfying groove into the air. It’s executed beautifully, each twinkling element bringing a new vibrancy to the mix” - Slumber
“[7th St/7th Ave] is a trip to the ’70s and a psychedelic vision with overlaying guitar synths and tones of percussion from drummer Ark Calkins.” - Under The Radar
“The upbeat art-pop track feels as if it starts in medias res, fading in on a rollicking bass/drums lockstep that sweeps you up in its pulsing rhythm right away" - Paste Magazine

koleżanka, the project of multi-instrumentalist Kristina Moore (she/they), is sharing a new single, “Canals of the City,” today on Bar/None Records. koleżanka released their debut LP, Place Is, for Bar/None, in July of 2021 to accolades from AllMusic, KEXP, Bandcamp, Stereogum, Paste Magazine and more. The new single from koleżanka picks up where Place Is left off, with layers of otherworldly vocals soaring over Stereolab-indebted grooves that sprawl out, shimmering like an inferior mirage. “Canals of the City” sees koleżanka sorting through tragedy, recalling an intense loss that shaped their relationship with their teenage love and the weight of that experience in detail. Moore goes acutely autobiographical, describing this traumatic experience in detail. While Moore details the tragedy that occurred that summer the chorus of celestial vocals rises into one final crescendo, carrying the weight of that love, that memory, and that future that never was. Speaking to the new single, Moore says:
"This is a song inspired by a memory. It’s about the first person I ever fell in love with, of our joy being debaucherous punks finding trouble in the west side where he lived, and of a tragedy that transformed him and our relationship in an irreparable way.”
