Alt-rocker newcomers Kissing On Camera announce debut EP ‘Baby Names’, set for release May 27th, and share pulsating new effort ‘Voice Actor’, out today (April 24th).
An emotive force from Dublin City, now forging their sound in the heart of London, Josh Rosney, Sam Cheesmore, Morgan Beausang and Sebastian Bluestone channel the raw energy and angst spurred on by their move to the UK a few years, crafting a sound that’s both unapologetic and visceral. With angular guitars, catchy, heart on sleeve vocals, and relentless energy, the quartet blend elements of emo, indie, and alt rock, drawing inspiration from artists such as Title Fight, Wednesday, and Alex G to perfection.
With nods of approval already from key tastemakers including So Young Magazine, Kissing On Camera have certainly been making quite the impression on the capital’s live circuit. Their unique concoction of heavy noise and melodic intensity has lead to slots alongside the likes of Punchlove, Really Good Time, thistle. and Tummyache, whilst the group will also play several London shows in the coming months ahead of a support date with Boston Manor.
Speaking ahead of their latest single release, the band explained: “‘Voice Actor’ captures the raw intensity of living with anxiety and self-consciousness, where every social interaction feels like a performance. The track’s loud, punk energy mirrors the frustration of trying to follow an unwritten script just to avoid saying something 'wrong.' It’s about feeling disconnected from your true self, trapped in a role you never signed up for. With a defiant, chaotic sound, this song is a cathartic release for anyone who’s ever felt like they’re acting in their own life.”
Kissing On Camera’s ‘Voice Actor’ is out now and available on all digital platforms.
