Lyrics collected from personal diaries, guitar chords composed in bedrooms, songs that have been bottling up for years. Amber and Marie never dared to share their music up until the age of 19 and 21, when Kids With Buns stepped out of their rooms onto the stage. Kids With Buns is a bedroom indie pop project, pushing the boundaries musically and thematically. Digging deep into their psyche and personal experiences. Where their two minds collide, their music takes shape and merges together with the androgynous voice of Marie and the silky tones of Amber. In 2020 Kids With Buns released their first track and immediately became the face of the yearly campaign of 1712, the Belgian violence helpline, with their synonymously titled song touching upon sexual intimidation. When they won Studio Brussel's talent competition De Nieuwe Lichting, things started moving quickly for the duo: Bad Grades reached first place in the charts and received more than 2.5 million streams on Spotify. In their first year, they performed at Lokerse Feesten, played at the Lotto Arena and presented their debut EP Waiting Room in two sold-out Ancienne Belgique shows.
They toured through the Netherlands supporting Balthazar and Eefje de Visser and subsequently played an almost sold-out headline tour there. They performed at showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag (NL) and were put in the line up of Down the Rabbit Hole (NL). This summer they played at Pukkelpop and the German Reeperbahn Festival.
