Jelee

Autodidacticism, the process or practice of learning a subject without a teacher or formal education. A perfect way to describe the way Jelee has learned his way of creating and presenting his art. His first three releases are a conceptual trilogy, showcasing three different sides of Jelee while still being consistent enough to be a whole. The year after he released , which featured 2 previously unreleased tracks and 3 remixes from tracks of his earlier work, by like minded artists. In the same year his track Diaspora with vocals by  was featured on , released on United Identities.

In the following year Jelee founded his own record label, Heliopolis Recordings. The goal of his label is to create a platform for unique and talented local artists that don't fit on most other labels or platforms. So far the label has released music by  and , with Jelee himself appearing as a remix artist on Guido Hoek his first release.

While setting up the foundation for his record label, Jelee was also working on his first full lengt album called , released early 2023 featuring several upcoming local artists. The album is inspired by his love for storytelling in music, most notably video game music. A sequel to Soil is on it's way and is fittingly called "Downloadable Culture."
