Hilang Child is the moniker of Ed Riman, a half-Welsh, half-Indonesian musician and songwriter from South London, now living in Brighton. His debut album ‘Years’ was released in 2018 on Bella Union Records, showcasing expansive atmospheres with acoustic and electronic elements in harmony-rich, multi-layered songs. It won praise from BBC 6 Music's Lauren Laverne and Radio 1's Huw Stephens, glowing reviews from The Line of Best Fit, Q Magazine and Monocle, and saw Hilang Child touring in the UK, USA, Europe and Indonesia. One song even earned a spot at #4 on MTV's Channel V Asia indie chart. His follow-up is due in 2021 and is set to introduce a more up-front, brash evolution on his sound, with massive gang vocal reprises, aggressive bass synths, pumping grooves and ethereal woodwind textures.
