ABOUT THIS BAND

started as the new-age solo project of Simi Sohota during his tenure as a DJ at KDVS, the college radio station at UC Davis in California. Originally springing from his obsession with ambient/easy-listening and guided meditation cassettes he released his debut LP The Way Water Bends Light.

After moving to San Francisco in 2013 and seeing a flyer in a record store window for an ambient DJ night, he met Geoff Morris from Gradient Fade and began to collaborate and recruited a live band. With a new focus on bedroom pop and hold-music he released the cassette My Eyes Never Really Adjusted to the Light with an accompanying tour in support of Mild High Club. The live band is a 6-piece jazz influenced lounge-pop act that sometimes performs under the moniker Mango Jerry and the SPF 5.
