ABOUT THIS BAND

Glows is the project of London based audio-visual duo, GG Skips , of UK band Sorry, and Felix Bayley-Higgins. Involved in the formation of the Slow Dance collective and label, they’ve experimented in all avenues of London’s arts and music scenes in recent years. From forming improvisational assemble EMU (Felix Raman, black midi, Cajm, Martha Skye Murphy) to creating and performing their works at the Royal Academy of Arts. Glows was first the bedroom project of Skips, driven by propulsive percussion and electronics, alongside translucent synths and soft vocals, the sound restlessly skits from orchestral to ambient to hardcore. Early single releases gained support from NME, DIY, and Radio 1 with 'Perla' and 'Afterthought' subesquently being voted as Loud and Quiet’s 'Best Songs Of The Year'. Mirroring the discursive nature of it’s sound, debut EP ‘J.L HOOKER LOVE PLEASURE FOREVER’ was inspired by unravelling the linkages between Blues artists, The Tropics and the experiences of mental illness.   Working in parallel on a similarly expansive visual approach, Felix performs a visual score alongside Skips in their swelling and contracting live show, which debuted in a sold out event at the Royal Academy of Arts, leading to 2020's single EASY, a reworked lament on addiction from years prior.   The ethos of reworking and looping old material lead to the reworking of track Molina from JLHLPF by label-mate
