“Feral Family is like a drug… hits the spot once again.” - When The Horn Blows
“An industrial sound that gives an apocalyptic mood.” - Our Sound, Single of the Week
“Thunderous, cinematic.” - the most radicalist
Leftfield Yorkshire rockers - FERAL FAMILY - have unleashed their latest single “Deep Cuts”, taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘Without Motion’ (out 19 January 2024).
A barbed and brooding infusion of industrial-tinted alt-rock, “Deep Cuts” sees Feral Family at the top of their game as they meld melodic musicianship with thought-provoking themes.
With heady guitar lines ripping through antagonistic instrumentals, the track barrels toward a seesawing climax swarming with screeching riffs that billow like plumes of smoke rising from a smouldering wreckage.
Grappling with the bleakness of internal suffering and exploring how the phrase “time heals all wounds” doesn’t always ring true, singer Jamie explains of the new track:
“”Deep Cuts” reflects being hurt deeply, the struggle to cope with the pain, and the desire to move on. Time may be a great healer, but those scars don’t always necessarily fade. The song contemplates the reasons behind the suffering and expresses a hope to find closure and healing with time. It also explores the thin lines between emotional vulnerability and strength, highlighting the internal conflict of trying to navigate through difficult experiences .”
“Deep Cuts” follows previous single “This Side Of Me” as the latest track to emerge from Feral Family’s forthcoming debut album ‘Without Motion’, now confirmed for release this January. An electric statement of intent from a band bristling with a new vengeance, the earlier release gained an early preview on John Kennedy’s Radio X show and was praised as “brilliant” by BBC Introducing’s Alan Raw and “soaring” by BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.
A gravity-defying debut from a band going places fast, Feral Family’s ‘Without Motion’, will be released across all leading services on 19 January 2024.

As their name suggests, Feral Family are hungry and relentless: it’s in their DNA. Quietly simmering away in the seaside town of Bridlington on the East Coast of Yorkshire, their music has been hailed as “a perfect blend of haunting vocals mixed with an in-your-face sound akin to Foals” by BBC Introducing.
With a string of previous singles gaining airplay on the likes of Amazing Radio, Total Rock and BBC Introducing Humberside, Feral Family have attracted attention from a range of tastemakers including The Independent, God Is In The TV, Soundsphere Magazine and more. The band’s single “Smother” was also praised by When The Horn Blows as “like a drug [that] hits the spot once again” and Flare Music dubbed earlier release “Spice King” as “a catastrophically raw form of originality… Unfathomably strong.”
Wildly independent and utterly driven, Feral Family continue to have a raison d’être to become known as one of the UK’s most crucial live bands. Following a support slot in Bridlington with The Lilacs this November, the group will be hitting the road for a further run of headline shows in February 2024, where they will be performing cuts from impressive 2023 EP ‘PLAYTEST’ plus visceral highlights from their soon-to-be-released debut album ‘Without Motion’ (due 19 January 2024).
