The official follow-up to Derrick’s successful ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ single which boasted nearly 700k streams on Spotify alone with help from self-initiated Tik Tok marketing campaign. On the 26th July, Derrick Nenzo dropped ‘beverley’ alongside Amber Jay and brought the infinitely catchy melody into the streaming world. Stepping away from both of their usual sounds, the two exciting budding artists from Liverpool put their best foot forward to create this silky summer bop. Inspired by the likes of Steve Lacy, Paris Texas and 100 Gecs, the Scouse word smith and melody guru has took time to garner new influence and experience while keeping fans in the loop via socials to curate his own sound and present something the world didn’t know it needed. 22-year-old Derrick, now living in Leeds, aims to follow up from previously successful releases which garnered attention through viral Tik Tok marketing such as ‘Ultra Violet’ (Album, over 1m streams) and popular single ‘Dungeons and Dragons’. With features from; Bido Lito, The Gem Collective (@thegemc0llective), Melodic Distraction and a packed out first headline show at Hyde Park Book Club (Leeds), Derrick is quickly becoming one of Leeds most promising rising stars. With another mosh pit stirring headline show planned at the notorious Headrow House (Leeds) on the 27th September, Derrick Nenzo is one to watch for 2023.
