Captain Frederickson return with their heaviest and nosiest album to date INTROVERTS UNITE. The album wears it's influences on its sleeve with elements of Mclusky, Shellac , Pissed Jeans, Jesus Lizard and even Chat Pile. With that being said Introverts Unite still sounds like an album only Captain Frederickson could make.
The albums opens with the drop tuning groove of lead single 'Minivan vs Destiny' which gained support both sides of the Atlantic from KEXP and BBC Radio 6 respectively. We then move on the infectious bass groove of 'Magenta' , the co-vocals and multiple part over 3 minute song is about as close to an epic as CF will ever get.
The title track takes the loud quiet dynamic and pushes to the limit , while 'Ten Tons of Shit' is a song about extreme Hoarding "you'll never take my Casio calculator collection , I've got ten ovens, one's convection".
"I Wear a Hat Now" is our tribute/ attempt as a Shellac song. 'Kill Jared' is a collision of noise and blues with the refrain "Planters killed the Peanut Man, why couldn't Subway have killed Jared!"
The Album closing run , starts with a classic CF pop banger "Nine Dart Finish" and then the heavy and unhinged Dyson Airblade Domestic, the story of when we were going to buy a Dyson Airblade for our house bathroom. Fittingly an album with introverts in the title closes with a song about loneliness . "I have a multitap but I don't have multi-friends".
In a world run by extroverts ,INTROVERTS UNITE!*
*But with enough distance that we don't have to actually interact with each other ever!
